This is an inspirational story about a puppy who got a chance at life. The story begins with a careless pet owner who brought his pregnant bull mastiff to the vet. The dog gave birth to 6 adorable puppies. Bailey happened to be one of them. Once the dog had given birth, its owner thought that he could take the dog home that day. The vet had explained to him that they needed to keep the mom for medical reasons and the puppies needed to stay with the mom. The owner said he didn’t want the puppies he just wanted his dog back. He told the vet if he had to take the puppies he would just drown them when he got home. Long story short, the vet now had to find a home for six puppies that were literally hours old. My brother’s girlfriend, Lauren, was working at the vet at the time this had taken place. Being the animal lover that she is, she agreed to take one home. Bailey, the puppy was a huge responsibility. Because she didn’t have a mom, Lauren had to bottle feed her every three hours, even in the middle of the night. Lauren is a 20 year old trying to get through college while holding a part time job. This task did not come easy. Many times she considered finding someone to adopt Bailey because it was too much responsibility. Once Bailey was off the bottle, things started to settle down. Bailey is still a puppy, but is finally starting to grow into her massive paws. Although Bailey can be a terror, she brings so much joy to Lauren’s life. Lauren always says you can never have a bad day when you come home to a face as precious as Bailey’s. This puppy is so lucky to be alive today and Lauren is so grateful to have her.

I choose this topic for my blog because I am involved with animal rescue. I currently work with local nonprofit organizations as a "foster parent". As a foster, I take in animals that are either too sick or too young to be adopted. These animals remain in my care until they have found their forever home. To this day I have fostered nine kittens. I really want to foster puppies, but they require a lot more time commitment, which I unfortunately cannot provide right now.
On my blog roll, I recommend reading the ASPCA blog. This is frequently updated covering a variety of topics. You will find animal rescue stories from both extremes. They will post horrible abuse stories as well as adorable pictures of their "pet of the week".
